If you are asked for dinner please don’t be late. Your hostess and host have gone to a lot of work to insure that you have a pleasant evening. Whatever the time that you are invited arriving too early or too late is not acceptable. You may be fashionably late up to ten minutes but I would not go beyond that point. Remember they have organized the evening from cocktails to dinner and all of this is well timed and planned.
DON’T BE RUNNING LIKE THAT RABBIT MUMBLING “ I AM LATE I’M LATE FOR A VERY IMPORTANT DATE”.
Being late is just a bad habit. Sometimes one has a valid excuse but it should never be to make a grand entrance. What do you do with these guests Miss Maisy? Can I scratch them from my guest list?

You can definately scratch them off your guest list but if you realy like them you might ask them to arrive a half hour before your event starts. I hope that works but they may decide to be on time for once in their life. If they are then offer them a drink and if I were you I'd have a double scotch and finish putting on your makeup.
